Some kids draw in chalk on the sidewalk - beautiful flowers, pictures of dogs, cats, boats, butterflies, and fun things. At my house, Erica and her dad have fun doing math in chalk on our patio. They don't just do simple addition, they have graduated to doing multiplication. It's almost a contest to see who can do it faster. While I love to see the drawing of a dog, I'm thrilled (and so is her math teacher) to know that math makes it out of the classroom and onto our front porch.
