Snow & Dog

My black lab mix is enjoying the snow this morning... like no human is for sure. I found her staring out the patio door, watching the soft flakes falling all over her yard, a look of yearning on her dog face. She jumped up as soon as she saw me, her signal to go out - now, mom, now! And as always, the first thing she does is lick the snow (she's a known "taster" of all things, especially short humans) and she practically jumps in the air with excitement. Quite a funny thing to watch... and it gets better. She lays down in it, rubbing her face in the first snow pile available, and comes up with a white face. This looks cool against her coal black fur! And then she is off like a shot, racing around the yard, in random pattern, leaving her prints in the fresh snow. A figure eight around the bird feeder, a path to the gate and back, racing at high speed across from one fence to the other - Belle truly enjoys every step. If she had a thumb, I'm sure she would be throwing snowballs at me standing in the window watching her.
