Spring Break

I just let the dog inside, and she is covered with snow..... yes, it was 66 yesterday, and Erica and I went to the park with our lunch after a few hours swimming at the pool. Today, it started out sunny, but while we were bowling it started to rain and just as Mark got home the flakes began to fall. FYI I scored a 188, that's right, uh huh! - and it counts as I was pre-bowling for my league tomorrow night! It's already about 2 heavy, wet inches, and more to come. Spring, as always, is a mix of sun and snow, great for skiers but leaves us gardening types in a tizzy. I saw purple crocus peeking out this morning, and now they are surely goners with the weight of tonight's snow. This is the kind of snow that gets you doing a mental inventory of the pantry, or locating the flashlights and lanterns. The lights have been flickering.....

The funny thing is that while I was swimming with Erica yesterday, I happened to look down at my legs - white, unshaven (for several days - hey, you know how it is!) and not at all ready for summer. But hey, I have at least 2 months before I really need to worry. And in those two months, I hope to plan my garden, update the home improvement chores list, decide the places we will go camping, and probably shovel a little bit more snow. I might even take my tax refund and buy a snow blower! HA!
